Alloplant for keratoplasty
Is designed for the cornea lamellar defects replacement in the surgical treatment of keratitis, leucomas, ulcers and other cornea pathologies. It is easily modelled as per the form of the dissected pathologic lesion allowing to maximally preserve the healthy parts of the cornea. This alloplant is a principally new plastic material and clinically doesn’t yield to the traditionally used preserved or native cornea in lamellar keratoplasty.
A new white-colored transplant is replaced within the period of 2-4 months by the transparent corneal tissue.
Alloplant is produced of two types:
- For lamellar typical keratoplasty (round form, 5-10 mm in diameter)
- For lamellar atypical keratoplasty (ring-form – for barrier keratoplasty and arbitrary form – for different corneal defects replacement).
The thickness of this type is 100 and 200 microns.
